Peter and the Starcatcher

"Up to the stars - I like that"

Baylor Theatre put on Peter and the Starcatcher, written by Rick Elice, in the spring of their 2018-2019 season. It was directed by Lisa Denman and the set was designed by Michael Sullivan. I was the assistant designer for this production. As the assistant, it was my responsibility to conduct research, both historical and inspirational, assist with drawings, and build the model. We based the set on a piece of research I found of a Micronesia stick chart. The Stick Chart is what created the two ships with the tied together bamboo and interlocking sticks. This production is what showed me how important research can be and what research can become. The ¼” production model is what really taught me how to model build, making sure to include as much detail as I could.
